SUPERSONIC CAR WASH SURVEYS UTAHNS ON THEIR RELATIONSHIP

By |2022-03-16T21:26:05+00:00June 26th, 2019|Categories: Uncategorized|

Do you still care for your car like you once did? Do you make sure it is pristine before taking it on the road?  These attitudes and others were probed in a poll commissioned by Supersonic Car Wash as it reflects on if and how modern life is changing our relationships with our cars on its 60th anniversary of being the state’s car wash leader.

The poll, conducted of car owners in the Salt Lake City Metro area, revealed that the majority of Utahns (65 percent) are still passionate about caring for their pride-filled possessions. In fact, a full half (50 percent), spend as much time caring for their vehicles as they used to 10 or even 15 years ago.

Some of the poll’s biggest surprises come in the areas of what Utahns love most about their cars and how they show their love for their cars.

  • For two-thirds (64 percent) of car owners, safety and dependability are the number one reasons Utahns love their cars. Forty-nine percent seem to love the freedom their cars enable. They say “I love just being able to get in and go.”
  • Nearly six in ten (56 percent) say they express “that loving feeling for their car” by never falling behind on routine maintenance, while another 3 in 10 show their love with regular car washes on a weekly basis and/or by going the extra mile to keep it clean in between washes. Just a third say they “don’t do any more than they have to, but my car knows I still love it.”
  • Even though car owners regard regular maintenance as important, 6 out of 10 people said they are “more pressed for time, so I try to do my car maintenance as quickly and conveniently as I can.”

In other results, the survey shows that our cars do play an important role in revving our emotions!

  • Virtually half (45 percent) of respondents admit that seeing someone behind the wheel of a good-looking vehicle makes them more attractive.
  • Nearly three-quarters of respondents — 74 percent — say their emotions go soaring when their car gets scratched or dented and 53 percent are really bothered when their kids leave trash in their car.
  • And what style car “makes their heart throb”? Just 6 percent want a fully outfitted truck, only 11 percent said a sports car, and 15 percent voted for an off-road vehicle.  Their absolute dream vehicle?  A luxury environmental car – such as a Tesla!

To mark its 60th anniversary, Supersonic Car Wash is encouraging Utahns to “renew their vows” with their cars, which means recommitting to good car care as part of maintaining their affections for their autos. From July 1-August 18, all customers visiting Supersonic’s 11 newly-refurbished Utah locations will be automatically enrolled in the company’s “Super-Size the Love” Sweepstakes.

SUPERSONIC CAR WASH 60TH ANNIVERSARY VOWS

Two-thirds of Utah car owners still have that loving feeling for their cars, according to a poll commissioned by Supersonic Car Wash, now entering its sixth decade of helping consumers care for their vehicles. The poll found that 1 in 2 Utahns spend the same amount of time and effort caring for their car as they did 10 or even 15 years ago, with only 27 percent indicating that they spend less time caring for their autos than they used to.

Regardless of how strong Utahns’ automobile passions may be, it is clear that changes in our lives have affected the way folks care for their cars.  Six out of 10 respondents said they are “more pressed for time” and close to another 30 percent said they have “tons of other distractions.”

In response, Supersonic Car Wash is seizing the occasion of its 60th anniversary to urge Utahns to “renew their vows” with their vehicles this summer.

“We’re pleased that folks here in Utah still feel the love for their cars despite the other pressures and distractions we all have to contend with,” commented Kamen Goddard, District Manager at Supersonic, whose parents and grandparents were the original owners of Supersonic.  “Still, renewing your vows means recommitting to the love and joy you derive from your vehicle and tending to the basics, such as regular car washes, which are super important for ideal car maintenance.”

“Think about a weekly car wash as an investment in your ‘relationship maintenance.’  Getting rid of surface dirt, cleaning the under carriage, and applying a sealant to protect the finish is one of the simplest ways to protect the long-term well-being of your car.  It’s like bringing home flowers to your partner at the end of a long week,” mused Gregg Schroeppel, Regional Vice President, Supersonic Car Wash.

“And since we know how pushed for time many of our customers are, we are even more proud to have introduced the express car wash to Utah back in 1959!,” enthused Mr. Schroeppel.

To help customers recommit to their cars this summer, Supersonic is running the “Super-Size the Love” Sweepstakes at its 11 locations from July 1 – August 18.  In addition to an assortment of daily prizes that will be awarded to everyone who purchases a car wash, all visitors will be entered into a weekly drawing where they will be eligible to win a road trip bag and a one-year Unlimited Fast Pass for free.

Beyond these celebratory activities, Supersonic Car Wash is marking its anniversary with a $7 million refurbishment that includes the installation of all-new equipment at several sites and new signage at all 11 locations.

“Everything we do at Supersonic Express is aimed at giving our customers a superior wash, detail cleaning, and customer service experience that is second to none,” added Gregg Schroeppel.   “We hope Utahns will not hesitate to visit us, renew their vows, and reignite that loving feeling for their cars.”

Supersonic is the only car wash in the state to offer customers the fullest range of service options – from a full-service car wash to an express car wash or detailing.  This enables the company to most effectively meet the different needs of Utah’s car owners.

Nine Supersonic locations are open 7 days a week and are open Monday-Saturday from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm and on Sundays from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm.  The Provo and Lindon locations are open Monday-Saturday, from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm. They offer a full range of express wash options, from basic to premium, and free vacuums for all, as well as the ability to upgrade any wash for full service interior cleanings and detailing.  Their top-of-the line express wash features a proprietary product called Polymer Pro, which takes advantage of an exclusive technology to protect the paint finish and produces a lasting shine that is typically associated with hand waxing.  The Polymer Pro rinse is the best way to keep cars protected between recommended quarterly hand-detailed cleanings.
